Rush- Carrera
Two time Academy Award winning director Ron Howard is the man behind the greatly anticipated movie Rush, and we can’t help but get excited. Released to UK cinemas on 13th September the wait is almost over.
The film is based in the glamorous golden age of formula 1 racing in 1976. It portrays the thrilling true story of two of the greatest sports rivals of all time. James Hunt is played by Australian heartthrob Chris Hemsworth, his character is known for his excessive drinking and smoking as well as his promiscuous ways. His opponent Niki Lauda played by Daniel Bruhi the more methodical of the two who didn’t smoke or drink, he was careful with what he ate and cared about the car and the race.
Although F1 began introducing greater safety innovations in the 1960s, the measures were often outpaced by technological advancements that allowed the cars to go faster. Rush follows the two drivers as they push themselves to the breaking point of physical and psychological endurance, where there is no shortcut to victory and no margin for error.
Staying true to the times, the legendary eyewear brand Carrera is prominently featured in the movie. Lauda’s character is seen wearing a pair of Carrera 80 sunglasses. The metal design of the frame epitomizes the brand’s racing attitude with a tear drop lens feature. The element of design combined with interchangeable polarized lenses, finished with the iconic signature branding adds to the Carrera timeless style.
